Accessing Oregon's WorkSource System
To access ALL of the resources of WorkSource Oregon, you must first go through what is called "The Welcome Process." The reason for this process is related to Unemployment Insurance and federal funding. Each State across the Nation has similar programs that are mandated by the Federal Government. One of these programs is called Claimant Reemployment.
The Welcome Process in Oregon is basically a 2-step process. First, you must register with WorkSource Oregon and create a profile in iMatchskills®.
The second step in the Welcome Process is to visit a WorkSource Center and meet with a WorkSource Representative. This consists of a 30-90 minute meeting to discuss the resources available to you through WorkSource Oregon as a job seeker.
During this meeting you will discuss your iMatchskills® profile and how to improve it to help make your worksearch more successful. You will discuss the different workshops and trainings available to you at the Center. You will also discuss local labor market information, the National Career Readiness Certificate program, OJT (On-the-Job Training), the Initial Skills Review and other programs available at the time you visit the Center. The last thing discussed should be what your "next steps will be.
